AWiCS International Women’s Day 2022: “Woman Blazing Trails”

On the 31 March, The Association of Women in Construction (Singapore) hosted a half day seminar in celebration of International Women Day 2022 where Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of National Development Ms Sim Ann graced the seminar. Over 120 participants turned up for the physical event.


The International Women Day is an international campaign aimed at raising the profile of women in engineering as well as to encourage more women to join this exciting industry. The seminar, themed 'Women Blazing Trails' will cover topics such as leadership and management, real estate, finance, technology, innovation and the environment. Featuring a strong lineup of speakers and a panel discussion, the session seeks to celebrate and inspire women in Built Environment sector .


Keynote speaker Ms Ng Hsueh Ling, Chairman, Lendlease Global Commercial Trust Management shared a very lively discussion together with a panel of three prolific industry representatives from the Built Environment sector. The keynote provided insights into the Singapore Green Plan’s decade- long roadmap in charting the nation’s sustainability goals. Singapore’s built environment sector has an impressive target to achieve in obtaining 80% efficiency in these three areas: greening our buildings, developing new building with super low energy and energy-efficiency improvements for best-in-class green buildings.
